Hello everyone!
There's so much to tell I hardly know where to begin. As my teenagers like to say, "Spill the tea!" So here we go. This issue is jam-packed with events. Easter events, community events, library events, and guess what? They are ALL family-friendly. We've changed a few things in the event calendar to make it easier for you to find what you're looking for. While you've been able to search by age, date, or category. We are now including the recommended age range in the event title, when available, to allow you to scan through them faster. And for all of you with fur babies, know that we love them too, and have added a puppy emoji when it is an event that is for pets, one that welcomes well-behaved pets, or is a reading program utilizing therapy dogs. That way, if you or another family member has allergies or prefers not to be around animals, you can plan ahead and avoid unpleasant surprises.
We truly do the work so you don't have to. Links to organizational websites, movie trailers, and more are included in the event description. We call venues and research the basic information you need to determine whether an event is a good fit for your kids. But if there's one thing that parenthood teaches you, is that you cannot plan for everything. Events get cancelled, rescheduled, or changed with little notice. Speaking of which, Brews & Bites at the Outlets of Little Rock has moved from Saturday to Friday the 12th, from 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm due to the potential for inclement weather on Saturday. It seems that Mother Nature has been very busy lately. Which is why we always recommend checking either online or by phone before heading to an event.
Are you a sports fan? Our very own Little Rock Rangers have made history by being the first team from Arkansas (yes, ever!) to qualify for the 2019 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. And their first round pairing will be a home game against the NTX Rayados from Texas. They will face off at Episcopal Collegiate School in Little Rock on Wednesday, May 8th at 7:00 pm. It would be awesome to have our local soccer families and fans come out to watch history being made.
This week is also the first home game for the Arkansas Travelers who play at Dickey Stephens ball park in North Little Rock. The Travs have a lot of family-friendly promotions as always. And on Mondays, you can bring your well-behaved puppers out to watch the game too (and snag yourself a $3 discount on your ticket for doing so!)! We'll be using the baseball and soccer emojis to help you find the games. And any applicable promotions will be included as well, so go ahead and open the Macaroni Kid North Little Rock website on your phone and save it to your home screen. That way all the event details are literally a tap away!
Be sure to connect with us on social media for any last minute event changes, announcements, and giveaways. Speaking of which, we have an awesome giveaway coming up featuring a very talented young lady who will be coming to town in November. The details will be in next week's newsletter and you will need to be a subscriber to enter. So, if you've been sitting on the fence about signing up for the FREE newsletter, hop off and click here to get 'er done!
Aloha,
Sandra
