A Note from Your Publisher

Can you believe we have a whole brand spanking new decade to break in? Excited doesn't even begin to describe how I will enjoy saying, "Remember how we watched Grey's in the '20s?" Freaky, right? Those of you with little ones will get to talk about the '30s and '40s with nostalgia as we leave the 20th century to the history books.

Meanwhile, January in Central Arkansas is all about food, fun, and family. With Easter, Spring Break, and graduation around the corner, we have a lot to look forward to in the coming months. Everything can quickly become a blur between now and December if you let it. How can we slow down and savor life? Navigate the drama of the teenage years? Seek advice from professionals? Well, for starters, be sure to subscribe to our weekly newsletter here if you haven't already done so. If you're on social media connect with us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for additional content and updates.

What do we have for you this week? For starters, Happy Chinese New Year! Next up, will be Groundhogs Day. Keep your fingers crossed as we await official word from Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to see if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow on Feb. 2nd. Did your family participate in a service project on Martin Luther King Jr Day? Consider how you can build upon that and keep your kids actively serving others throughout the year.

Did I hear a rumbly in your tummy? Kids and food (lots of it!) go hand-in-hand. And each week we bring you at least one or two new recipes or food-related crafts to try. I am all about edible art. Who says it begins and ends with gingerbread houses? Build it, enjoy taking photos, then eat it! Fastest clean-up ever. This week we have popcorn and pizza, two of my favorite go-to meals. Lol! Yes, popcorn is a food group in our house.

Enjoy the rest of the month. Congrats if your team made it to the Super Bowl. If your team didn't make it, throw a fab party anyway. And then get some rest because it's a long haul between now and spring break. If you see us around town, be sure to stop and say hello!

Aloha,

Sandra
