Don't let the BIG One Get Away!

It's Arkansas' State-wide Free Fishing Weekend - June 7-9, 2024

Enjoy the free fishing weekend in Arkansas! Residents and nonresidents may fish anywhere in Arkansas from noon Friday, June 7, until midnight Sunday night, June 9, 2024, without fishing licenses or trout permits. 

Regulations for Arkansas waters apply, including daily limits, slot limits, and length limits.  

Looking for a place to fish?  

Visit one of our four state hatcheries for the annual fishing derbies on Free Fishing Weekend! 

These events are for families; all adults and children must register before the derby. Bring your fishing gear and bait along with chairs, water, sunscreen, and snacks. There is a limit of three fish per person.

C.B. "Charlie" Craig State Fish Hatchery, Centerton

William H. Donham State Fish Hatchery, Corning

Andrew Hulsey State Fish Hatchery, Hot Springs

It looks like the weather will be warm and clear on Friday and Saturday with a chance of rain on Sunday that should clear up by the afternoon (Who am I kidding? Check it on the day of because it's sure to change by then.)

Don't forget hats, sunscreen, and sunglasses for the whole family because even a cloudy day can lead to sunburn and eye strain.
