NLRPL's Innovation Hub Free Summer Classes + Community Night

Fun and Creativity for the Whole Family in July

Looking for fun classes for your family this summer? The Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub is offering FREE classes to spark their creativity and teach new skills right here in North Little Rock! 

The Hub, now part of the NLR Public Library System, is a nonprofit organization that inspires innovation in technology, business, and creative fields while building skilled artisans & entrepreneurs through education & makerspace opportunities. Paid classes are offered for adults and youth to meet a variety of interests and skill levels. See their website for more information.

Be sure to mark your calendar for the "Color Our World, Community Night" at the Hub on Thursday, June 26, from 6:00-7:30 pm. Join NLRPLS’s Innovation Hub for an evening full of color, creativity, and connection! Guests are invited to bring a cotton t-shirt to upcycle and get ready to make something as bold and unique using tie-dye and block-printing techniques.

These FREE class offerings are available at the time of publication. Register as soon as possible, as space is limited. Classes take place at the Innovation Hub (204 E. 4th St. in Argenta).

✂️ Book Binding Basic Class for Teens

Make something unique in this creative, hands-on session! You’ll learn the basics of bookbinding and walk away with your very own mini-journal or zine—completely handmade by YOU.

🎨 Watercolor for Beginners

Discover the joy of watercolor painting in this relaxed, follow-along class perfect for total beginners and casual creatives alike! Led by Stephen Lanford of the Mid-Southern Watercolorists.

✂️ Intro to Hand Sewing for Teens

Learn the basics of hand-sewing while creating a rice-filled stuffed animal that doubles as a microwavable handwarmer! You'll leave with a soft, snuggly creation made by you, and sewing skills you can build on!

✏️ Drawing Fundamentals for Adults

📚 Storytime and STEAM: Big Imaginations Welcome

Join Hub Educators Lauren and Megan at NLRPLS’s Innovation Hub for an exciting storytime adventure with a STEAM twist! We'll read 2-3 stories, then do a kid-friendly activity.

Join us for a cozy evening of film, flavor, and family fun! Our own Hub Educator, Cindy, has handpicked a heartwarming, all-ages movie with Spanish dialogue that everyone can enjoy—whether you're fluent or just along for the subtitles. BYO snacks, blankets, and pillows.
